What metadata can reveal
GPS can identify a place. Device serial numbers, names, contact fields, original filenames, timestamps, thumbnails, editing IDs, and AI workflows can connect an image to a person, device, or project.
How the score works
The 0–100 score uses visible, capped rules. Exact coordinates matter more than a camera model, and repeated copies of the same fact do not earn the same points twice.
What the checker cannot see
It does not analyze faces, signs, addresses, plates, reflections, screens, uniforms, or landmarks in the pixels. Removing metadata cannot hide visible details.

Can an image reveal my location?
Yes. Valid EXIF latitude and longitude can identify where a photo was taken, so exact GPS adds 40 points to this report.
Does this tool upload my image?
No. A Web Worker reads the file in browser memory. The image, filename, coordinates, prompts, and report are not sent to a server.
What does the privacy score mean?
It is a repeatable 0–100 total from visible rules. Low means fewer supported metadata signals; it never means the image is guaranteed safe.
Can screenshots contain metadata?
Yes. Screenshots often have little EXIF, but software names, timestamps, PNG text, color data, or AI generation settings can remain.
