Use the tools. Keep your judgment switched on.
These terms explain the deal between you and ViewExif’s independent individual operator. They do not invent a company, office, or jurisdiction that does not exist.

What ViewExif provides
ViewExif provides browser-based tools and educational guides for inspecting, explaining, and removing supported metadata, plus limited C2PA verification. Available formats and results can change as browsers and libraries change.
Using the site means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the tools.
Local does not mean magic
Supported file operations are designed to run in your browser. ViewExif does not provide cloud storage, backups, recovery, or a record of the files you inspect.
Keep your original file. Check the cleaned copy before deleting anything or relying on it for legal, investigative, archival, medical, financial, or safety-critical work.
Use files you have the right to handle
You are responsible for the files you open, the rights and permissions needed to process them, the conclusions you draw, and where you share the output.
Do not submit confidential material to a third party merely because a ViewExif guide links to it. Redact private details before asking for support.
Do not turn a privacy tool into someone else’s problem
Do not use ViewExif to break the law, violate intellectual-property or privacy rights, stalk or identify people without a lawful basis, evade access controls, distribute malware, overload the service, or misrepresent altered evidence as authentic.
Automated access must remain reasonable and must not disrupt the site or imitate ad impressions, clicks, or user activity.
Site materials and your files
You keep whatever rights you already have in your files. ViewExif does not claim ownership merely because a file is processed in your browser.
The ViewExif name, original site design, code, and written material remain protected by their applicable rights. Third-party libraries, marks, and referenced services belong to their respective owners and keep their own licenses.
Some pieces have their own rules
The site depends on browser APIs and third-party libraries, analytics, hosting, and external links. Their availability and behavior are outside the operator’s full control.
A link is not an endorsement, partnership, or guarantee. Review the third party’s terms and privacy information before sending it data.
No uptime or perfect-result promise
ViewExif is provided on an as-available basis. The operator does not promise uninterrupted access, support for every file, complete extraction, complete removal, or that a result is suitable for a particular purpose.
Metadata standards conflict, damaged files behave strangely, and software changes. Verify important results with another suitable tool or qualified professional.
Keep the risk proportional
To the extent allowed by applicable law, the operator is not responsible for indirect loss, lost data, lost profit, or decisions made solely from a ViewExif result. Nothing here excludes a right or responsibility that the law does not allow to be excluded.
These terms do not choose an invented governing jurisdiction. Mandatory law that applies to you and the operator continues to apply.
Updates and contact
The tools and these terms may change. Material changes receive a new effective date on this page; continued use after publication means the revised terms apply from that date.
